Medicinal plant biotechnology: Tissue culture and cell suspension culture of herbs;Plant physiology and molecular biology of salinity stress tolerance in medicinal plants. 
Medicinal plant biodiversity and cultivation: Identification of Chinese traditional medicinal plant biodiversity and criteria by using fingerprint and molecular marker; Cultivation of medicinal plant. 
Natural products chemistry: Isolation, structural elucidation and biological evaluation of natural products.
